(Recommened after you read the book)

Before we get started, I need to know if you can keep a secret. If you can keep a secret, I want you to raise your hand. Now, for all of you who can't keep a secret, I want you to leave the building right now....(just kidding).

Here's the secret...you don't need to take notes because once we are done with this talk, I am going to give you a "secret link" to my notes online so you can visit them anytime you want...but you can't give the link to anyone. This link is hidden and only available to people who have sat through this talk. So can you keep the hidden link a secret? You promise? I want to hear you say, "I promise to keep the hidden link a secret."

Okay....now let's dig in.

Brief review of book....

There are 12 main characters of catergories of characters that God defines in His word.

God's has two atmospheres where His drama is being enacted. Heaven and earth. This is why Jesus told the disciples to pray: "Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven."

HEAVEN (change tense to past/present??)

1. God: Father.  Superhero. The Grandest Dreamer. The Greatest Romantic. The Author and Director and the "soul" of the entire story. He is the very essence of love, because He is love. (1 John 4:8)

2. Jesus: Son. Hero. He is also God. Just as humans are body, soul and spirit, so is God. Jesus is the "body" of God and also plays the role of Knight and Bridegroom. His part in the story is Lover, Conqueror, and King. (Revelation 19:16)

3. Holy Spirit: Heart. Hero. He is also God. He is the voice of God who reveals to us which part we play. He is the One who inspired humans to write the story by whispering to us in our spirits. (Romans 5:5)

4. Angels: Heavenly creatures. They are the good warriors, messengers and leaders in heaven who direct all worship toward God. 2/3 of heaven is believed to be comprised of this group. Ultimately they are God's servants and are greatly rewarded for their loyalty and service.

5. The Dragon: The chief dark angel. He was once the leader in heaven to direct all worship toward God but pride filled his heart because of his own beauty. He desires to dethrone God and steal worship for himself. He masquerades as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14) but has hidden ulterior motives: He desires to place His dreams above God's. He is the great deceiver of all who follow him and the author of fear and sin. He is the epitome of evil.

6. Dark Angels: Demons. These are spirits that are loyal to the dragon - his servants. They too desire to dethrone God and steal glory for themselves. 1/3 of heaven is believed to be comprised of this group. They deceive the townspeople to place their dreams above God's. Demons often dwell in people's minds in the form of believed lies. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

7. The Religious Leaders: Pharisees and Saducees. This group is not to be confused with the church (bride). These were typically people in high positions of authority in religious settings. In Jesus' time, they were the only people He clashed with and had harsh words toward because of thier misuse of authority and inaccurate representation of God. Contained within this group were some good but mostly evil leaders who were typically deceived. (Matt. 12:34-37)

8. Goverments: Leaders instituted by God. These leaders are established by God as "minsters of good." Their job was to effectively run kingdoms and territories and make laws that kept everyone safe. Ultimately it was their responsibility to punish evil and reward righteousness. (Romans 13:1-7)

9. Church: Bride. Heroine. She is the beauty that the Father gave to Jesus as His bride. She is the one being rescued from the Dragon but not passively like a weak damsel in distress, rather she is a mighty warrior. This bride includes all who have surrendered their hearts and lives to Jesus. She is chosen to be loved, rescued and to reign with Jesus on earth and forevermore in heaven. (Revelation 19:7)

10. Allies: Knights and Warrior Maidens. These are men and women who are part of the church (bride) who have already been rescued. They have earned their armor and are now warriors in God's  kingdom. They are aiding Jesus in the rescue of the church (bride). These are loyal, diehard friends and warriors. (2 Cor. 10:3-5)

11. Enemies: Dark Knights and Warrior Maidens. These are men and women who would rather serve the dragon. They put their own dreams above God's. They typically masquerade as servants of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:15) but in reality are wicked. They could be hiding within any of the other groups of characters.

12. Townspeople: The general population of the kingdom. They are typically common people who are unaware of what's really going on all around them. The Bible generally refers to them as the "crowds." They are the next love interest of God. He is attempting to rescue them from fear and sin and lead them into His kingdom so that they too can become "love warriors" and join God's grand adventure. (Matthew 5:1)

This is the drama that has been unfolding for millenia and is still in action today. Your life is part of God's story. Isn't it time you discovered your role and joined the adventure?
